Assistant Deputy Chief Dale Carnes began his career as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Southern California in 1985. Over the last 29 years, Assistant Deputy Chief Carnes has worked as a professional firefighter in three different states, holding assignments in suppression, EMS, training and administration. He entered the San Francisco Fire Department in 2002 as a lateral Firefighter/Paramedic and since that time he has worked as a Lieutenant, Captain, and Training Captain before being promoted to Assistant Deputy Chief in July of 2013.
Assistant Deputy Chief Carnes is a California State Certified Chief Officer, Paramedic, and HAZMAT Specialist, and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
Assistant Deputy Chief Carnes resides in the East Bay area with his wife and two sons.
