San Francisco Fire Department Receives Gift for Enhancements to Fire Boat Phoenix

WHAT: San Francisco Fire Department Chief Hayes-White will be present for a demonstration of the new computerized Search & Rescue equipment aboard the Fireboat Phoenix.

Tarantino Insurance Brokerage, through the Fireman's Fund Heritage program, gifted the Fire Department with funds, in the amount of $9,996.21, to purchase an extreme environment video camera, sea charting software and a 15" color monitor to better find victims who might find themselves stranded in the cold waters of the San Francisco Bay.

Future upgrades to this system will include a thermal imaging camera which will allow the Fireboat to see through fog and darkness.

The Chief of Department will be acknowledging the companies for their support in helping the Fire Department better serve the community.
