Scott Health & Safety*, a premiere manufacturer of innovative respiratory protection equipment for firefighters, first responders, industrial workers, law enforcement, military and homeland security forces around the world, will be presenting a check, in the amount of $5,000 (Five-Thousand Dollars), to The San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation, in support of its mission of early detection and prevention of firefighting related cancers by providing annual screenings and conducting longitudinal studies that follow firefighters throughout their careers and into retirement.

“Scott is committed to philanthropic efforts to support worthy causes such as the San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation,” says Tom Korb, Scott Health & Safety’s North American Fire Service Marketing Manager, “We believe in the Foundation’s mission and support their good work with the San Francisco fire service and know that this contribution will be put to good use to promote its worthy efforts.”

Speaking on behalf of the Board of the San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation, Founder and Chairman, Tony Stefani says “Scott Health and Safety has always played an integral part in the health and safety of firefighters throughout the nation. With this donation to the San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation it further proves their commitment to the health and longevity of the men and women in the fire service.”

"It is a known fact that Firefighters suffer higher rates of cancers than the average population," said Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White. "Between the support of companies such as Scott Health and Safety and the good work that the San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation is doing, Firefighters will have a much better chance of living longer, healthier lives. This is very important to all of us."
