Tenant Fire Safety Disclosure Information (Residents/Tenants)
Applies to all buildings with 3 or more dwelling units
Building owner shall provide all tenants with the required Tenant Fire Safety Disclosure Information – this Information must also be provided to all tenants every year thereafter on or before January 31st of each year.
Provision Compliance Date = March 10, 2017
Building owner shall have a resident from each unit complete a required Resident’s Statement – this Statement acknowledges that the resident has received the required Tenant Fire Safety Disclosure Information.
Resident shall complete the Resident Statement and return to the building owner within 20 business days after the resident has received the required Tenant Fire Safety Disclosure Information.
If resident fails to complete the Resident’s Statement within the required time period, building owner shall provide the required Owner’s Statement to the resident within 5 business days after the Owner’s Statement is executed.
Building owner shall maintain all Resident’s Statements and Owner’s Statements for at least 2 years.
