WHAT: Public reading by San Francisco Fire Department Chief, Joanne Hayes-White, of the book, Frankie & The Phoenix. A showing of a film about the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake and Marina District Fire will also take place at this event.
Frankie, a portable fire hydrant and, The Phoenix, the San Francisco Fireboat, heroically spring into action after a 7.1 earthquake strikes San Francisco, breaking underground water mains and leaving firefighters without water to battle a raging fire in the Marina District.
