Fire Commissioner Anthony (Tony) Rodriguez

It is with great sadness and regret that we inform you of the passing of Fire Commissioner Anthony (Tony) Rodriguez. Serving as Commission Vice President, Commissioner Rodriguez's dedication to the scope and breadth of the Commission's work, in addition to the perspective he brought from his many years of service as a union member and leader, resulted in him quickly becoming a respected and valuable Commissioner.  As a native San Franciscan, husband, father of four daughters and long-time resident of Bernal Heights, his passing is a loss to not only his family and friends, but to the Fire Commission, the San Francisco Fire Department, and the citizens of our City.

The Fire Department and Fire Commission extend our deepest condolences to the Rodriguez family and all those who so valued working with Commissioner Rodriguez.

Jose "Tony" A. Rodriguez, Jr.

Born November 15, 1951, completed the work he was called to in his beloved San Francisco, passed in peace Thursday, June 17, 2021.

Tony will be remembered by family and friends for dedicating his time and service to others in his professional and private life.
