Public Hearing on Four (4) Newly Proposed Fire Department Administrative Bulletins - July 22, 2011

The Fire Chief has designated the Fire Marshal to conduct the hearing on the proposed Fire Department Administrative Bulletins.


The purpose of the hearing is for the Department to receive public comment on the following four (4) newly proposed Administrative Bulletins:

1. 2.13 Solar Photovoltaic Submittal Guidelines
2. 2.14 Submittal Guidelines and Requirements for Fire Permit Applications
3. 2.15 Submittal Requirements for Temporary Tents and Membrane Structures
4. 2.16 Submittal Guidelines for Fire Department Access and Fire Flow Approval

The Fire Marshal will call for public comment on each newly proposed Administrative Bulletin in the order listed. The Fire Marshal will call for comment on a single Bulletin, and all speakers interested in commenting on that Bulletin must speak at that time. When all speakers have finished commenting on a particular Bulletin, the Fire Marshal will close comment on that Bulletin and proceed to the next Bulletin in order.
Members of the public may speak for up to 3 minutes on each Bulletin.
Fire Department personnel present at the hearing will not enter into debate or discussion with any public speaker. The lack of a response by Department personnel does not necessarily constitute agreement with or support of any comment provided by a speaker.
The Department will record the hearing.
Members of the public may also submit written comment on any newly proposed Administrative Bulletin. The Department must receive any written comment by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011.

The Department will consider all oral and written comment provided on the newly proposed Administrative Bulletins, and any additional changes that may be necessary, and prepare final versions of the proposed Administrative Bulletins. The Department will present the final proposed Administrative Bulletins to the Fire Commission for approval. The Department will include a transcript of the public hearing and all timely received written comments in the materials presented to the Fire Commission. The Department anticipates presenting the final proposed Administrative Bulletins to the Fire Commission at its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. on July 28, 2011 or August 11, 2011.
