SAN FRANCISCO FIRE COMMISSION RESOLUTION
RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ALLOW THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT A GIFT OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT VALUED AT $ 27,551 FOR THE DIVISION OF TRAINING'S REFERENCE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, The Fireman's Fund Heritage Program supports firefighters by funding equipment, tools, training, safety education and community emergency response programs; and,
WHEREAS, two local agencies, Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services, Inc. and American E&S, have selected the San Francisco Fire Department to receive a gift of three computers, monitors, a server, software, and training DVDs and reference materials, with a combined value of $27,551; and,
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, through its Heritage program, wishes to provide the gift as designated by these two agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Department will use the gift to improve the Reference Library at the Department's Division of Training; and,
WHEREAS, this gift will benefit the Fire Department and facilitate its safe and effective delivery of services and training to the public; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Chief of the Fire Department is authorized to accept the gift of equipment and materials from Fireman's Fund Insurance Company Heritage Program and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fire Commission extends its appreciation and gratitude to the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company Heritage Program for this welcome and generous gift.
