SAN FRANCISCO FIRE COMMISSION RESOLUTION
RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ALLOW THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT A GIFT OF EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES VALUED AT $15,938 FOR THE DEPARTMENT'S BUREAU OF EQUIPMENT AND AMBULANCE AND ENGINE FLEET.
WHEREAS, The Fireman's Fund Heritage Program supports firefighters by funding equipment, tools, training, safety education and community emergency response programs; and,
WHEREAS, a local agency, AmWINS Brokerage of California, has selected the San Francisco Fire Department to receive a gift of equipment that will test fire fighting SCBA, overhaul and particulate matter masks to ensure proper fit. The gift will also provide the Department with emergency medical bags made of non-permeable material to lessen the probability of transferring infectious diseases from patient to first emergency responders, with a combined value at $15,938; and,
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, through its Heritage program, wishes to provide the gift as designated by this agency; and,
WHEREAS, this gift will benefit the health and safety of the Department's uniform members, and will facilitate the Department's safe and effective delivery of services to the public; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Chief of the Fire Department is authorized to accept the gift of equipment and supplies from Fireman's Fund Insurance Company Heritage Program and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fire Commission extends its appreciation and gratitude to the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company Heritage Program for this welcomed and generous gift.
