Urban Search and Rescue

The Department has two Rescue Squads with function as our first line Urban Search and Rescue Teams. We supplement the squads with two Light Rescues and 20 Truck Companies all of which are equipped with Light Rescue capabilities. We also deploy trench rescue, confined space rescue, and other technical rescue units throughout San Francisco for support roles.
