FIRE OPS 101
For the first time in six years, the San Francisco Fire Department is partnering with the San Francisco Firefighters, IAFF Local 798, to provide elected officials with a unique experience of seeing and performing what first responders encounter. It’s a unique hands-on training exercise for some elected officials to learn what firefighters, EMTS, and paramedics confront daily.

The San Francisco Fire Department is partnering with the San Francisco Firefighters, IAFF Local 798, as they host a FIRE OPS 101 program in which local and statewide Elected Officials will participate in hands-on firefighting and rescue operations under the controlled supervision of professional Firefighters and Paramedics. Elected officials and policymakers will be introduced to simulations demonstrating fire and emergency medical service operations, from suiting the proper protective gear to performing auto extrications and extinguishing fires. Each scenario will allow participants to experience what our Firefighters and Paramedics face daily and see how challenging it is to keep our communities safe across San Francisco.
