What is LISTOS? 

A culturally and linguistically appropriate basic emergency and disaster readiness public education program for socially vulnerable populations with a grass-roots approach.  


About

The LISTOS program is comprised of a series of discussions which: 

  • Are organized by community members for the benefit of their own community 

  • Present the basic ideas of preparedness in 4 consecutive discussions 

  • Empower participants to educate their personal networks 

  • Consider cultural sensitives and time constraints  

  • Utilizes an interactive discussion learning environment for the whole family 


Curriculum

  • Identifying vulnerabilities  

  • Creating reunification and communication plan  

  • Utilites shut off 

  • Fire extinguisher use  

  • Basic first aid 

  • Organization at home 

  • Emotional support
