On Friday, September 30, 2022, Fire Chief Jeanine Nicholson will administer the Oath of Allegiance and present certificates to our 22 newest entry-level EMTs / three entry-level Paramedics.
“This group of men and women have completed a rigorous 8-week EMS Academy,” said Chief Nicholson. “Some will report to their assignments, marking the beginning of their year-long probationary period, as early as Saturday, October 1.”
Joining the ranks will be a highly diverse group of members. Fifteen members are first-generation Americans, and eight are San Francisco natives.
This class speaks many different languages, including Spanish, Cantonese, Albanian, German, Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Laotian, and American Sign Language. They have experience in various fields, including teaching, college & semi-pro athletes, forklift operations, antique sales vendors, a pastry chef, and three military veterans.
These dedicated members are embarking on the beginning of a rewarding career with San Francisco’s finest. It will be a proud celebration for the new members, their families, and the San Francisco Fire Department.
