20th Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Class of the San Francisco Fire Department to be Sworn In

On Friday, May 20th, 2022, Fire Chief Jeanine Nicholson will be administering the Oath of Allegiance and presenting certificates to our 25 newest Entry Level EMTs

“This group of men and women have completed a rigorous 8-week EMS Academy,” said Chief Nicholson. “Some will report to their assignments, marking the beginning of their year-long probationary period, as early as Saturday, May 21st.”

Joining the ranks will be a highly diverse group of men and women. They hail from Colombia, El Salvador, Thailand, The Philippines, Germany, South Korea, Peru, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Russia. They speak nine languages and have experience in several walks of life, including scuba diving, rock climbing, tree trimming, scientific research, farm work, and visual effects. There is even a pilot in the group. These dedicated men and women are embarking on the beginning of a rewarding career with San Francisco’s finest. It will be a proud celebration for the new members, their families, and the San Francisco Fire Department.
