Members of the public and media wishing to observe or film the ceremony can do so at the Public Safety Building located at 1245 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94158. This event will start at 0640 AM with Local and State Officials in attendance.

Thursday, September 11, 2025, marks twenty-four years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Each year on this date, the San Francisco Fire Department holds a remembrance ceremony for the emergency responders and civilians who perished in the tragic events of 9/11. This ceremony occurs at all SFFD facilities.

Members of the public who want to observe the ceremony and honor the fallen of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia, and the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, can do so on Facebook at https://fb.me/e/2M0kVlbOi

Each station in San Francisco will also host a smaller remembrance ceremony. You can find your station here.

0645 Hours PST – Apparatus rolls out of bays, flanking the driveways on both sides.

0658 Hours PST: Fire Department personnel assemble at attention in front of individual Station flagpoles (or a central location in front of the station).

0659 Hours PST—Time of South Tower Collapse—The Apparatus bell rings 3-3-3 (3 sets of 3 chimes each). The bells ringing signify “The Last Alarm.”

0700 Hours PST – Lower Station flag to half-staff; observe one minute of silence.

0702 Hours PST—Recognition Service—Read the names aloud of each of the 343 Firefighters and 8 EMS Providers from FDNY.

Flags will remain at half-staff for the remainder of the day.
