Release Date

At 4:15 am on 10/15/2025, San Francisco Fire Department units responded to the 2500 block of Chestnut Street for a fire in the building.

Upon arrival first in companies noted smoke and flames showing from a three-story residential building.

A working fire was called upon initial firefighting activity. Due to heavy fire conditions a second alarm was called for additional resources.

Two of the firefighters who sustained minor injuries have been released from the hospital. One firefighter remains hospitalized for further treatment.

Fire investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the cause and origin.
