Fire Station Open House Day

We are happy to announce that we will be holding open houses at all San Francisco Fire Stations on October 15th, 2022, from 1 PM to 5 PM to kick off Fire Prevention Week (FPW) 2022.

This year’s FPW campaign, “Fire won’t Wait, Plan your Escape!” works to educate everyone about the importance of having an escape plan and practicing that plan. Today’s homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on the early warning from smoke alarms and advanced escape planning.

The San Francisco Fire Department also encourages our youth and local schools to participate in National Junior Fire Marshal Day on October 11th, which will feature fire safety education delivered virtually to students at home and in classrooms all around the country. It will be streamed live at www.juniorfiremarshal.com and will take about 30 minutes. There is no cost to register: www.juniorfiremarshal.com/register.
