NEW NERT Training:  Are you new to the NERT program?*

This highly anticipated in-person full NERT training consists of 6 sessions over the course of 2 days. NERT Training is free to anyone who lives or works in San Francisco.

All participants must attend all 6 sessions in order to graduate the NERT program. No make up sessions will be provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn bout disaster preparedness and gain crucial skills!

*This class is limited to those who have not completed NERT in the past. If you have completed NERT you are not eligible for this training (even if your NERT ID certification has expired). Please pre-register for a Recertification class here.

Please note: YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS TO ATTEND. Having registered to be informed about new classes dates in general does not mean you are registered for this specific training. You must have a ticket to this specific training to attend it. Questions? Email sffdnert@sfgov.org.


 NERT Training Course Outline:

Session 1 - Tuesday April 4th, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Class 1: Earthquake Awareness, Preparedness, and Hazard Mitigation 

Class 2: Types of Fire, Hazardous Materials/Terrorism Awareness, Utility Shut-off 

Class 3: Disaster Medicine

Session 2 - April 5th, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Class 4: Light Search and Rescue

Class 5: Emergency Team Organization & Disaster Psychology

Class 6: Hands-On Skills Application, Course Review, and Graduation


The location of the training will be at San Francisco State University, Student Life Event Center @ Annex 1
