Citywide NERT Disaster Preparedness Drill

San Francisco, CA – The NERT program hosts two annual Citywide Drills, one in April to commemorate the 1906 Earthquake and one in October to commemorate the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake.

We plan to host 300 NERT graduates this year at the San Francisco Fire Department Treasure Island Training Facility. This is the first time the SFFD has hosted a Citywide drill on its property. We will practice hands-on skills that NERTs will utilize in a disaster. We will also reinforce team building with group exercises.

Through its programs, NERT teaches individuals the basics of personal preparedness and prevention. The training also includes hands-on disaster skills that will help individuals respond to a personal emergency and act as members of a neighborhood response team.
