K9-Bosco, Search and Rescue
Bosco is a Live Find Disaster Canine and is currently working towards FEMA certification with his handler Joshua Davis in November. He is prepared to search collapsed structures and locate live people trapped in the rubble so they can be rescued.
Bosco was raised in Oregon, where he was training to be a service dog for the hearing impaired with other littermates. Bosco and two other littermates were too toy-driven and too high energy. The organization made the decision to send Bosco and his other littermates to the National Disaster Search dog foundation. Search Dog Foundation used Bosco’s toy drive to help him become the search dog he is today. Bosco’s other littermates are currently working on other California task forces. Bosco and his handler are ready to respond to emergencies in the City and County of San Francisco and throughout the state as part of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 3.
