Shayne Kaialoa is a 23-year fire service veteran and Captain with the San Francisco Fire Department. Chief Kaialoa started his career with State of California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and has spent his last 18 years with the SFFD. His previous assignment was serving as the Captain of Rescue Squad 2, responding to fires and technical rescue incidents.

Shayne is a member of our department’s Incident Management Team and has served in the City’s Emergency Operations Center. Chief Kaialoa is also a State Fire Marshal Certified Master Instructor, Fire Officer, Strike Team Leader, and Hazardous Materials Specialist. He has served as an adjunct Recruit Academy Instructor for Firefighter Survival and Live Fire.
