Simon Pang

Deputy Chief of EMS and Community Paramedicine

Chief Simon Pang is dedicated to supporting the San Francisco Fire Department’s paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and community paramedics achieve clinical excellence, and to improving emergency medical service delivery through innovation and cross-boundary collaboration.

He has been a member of the San Francisco Fire Department since 1997, after previously working for the Paramedic Division of the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

As a Firefighter Paramedic, Chief Simon Pang was a proud member of Engine 15 in the Ingleside. After promoting to EMS Captain, he variously held positions at Rescue Captain 3 at Noe Valley’s Station 11, in the Department of Emergency Communications, the Division of Training on Treasure Island, the Station 49 Company Officer, and Captain of EMS-6.

As the Assistant Deputy Chief of Community Paramedicine, Chief Simon Pang was awarded a San Francisco Good Government SPUR award for public managerial excellence in 2023.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons and can frequently be found on a soccer field.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
