H2 Firefighter Application
The H2 Firefighter application period closes for the June 2025 Recruit Academy on December 16th.
To be considered for the upcoming academy, candidates must:
1. Submit an application for the H2 Firefighter opening on the DHR website.
2. Must be current on the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) Statewide Eligibility List (SEL)
- Pass the FCTC Written Test with a score of 70% or greater within one year of deadline
- Cal-JAC CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) Card within one year of deadline
- NREMT, CA EMT-1, or CA EMT-P
If you are already on the FCTC SEL, you will still need to apply for the H2 Firefighter position.

If you are interested in attending a test prep or the written test, please register on FCTC. Advanced registration is required.

The H3 EMT/Paramedic application for the upcoming academy period closes on August 14th.
Submit an application for the H3 EMT/Paramedic opening on the DHR website.
